How To Raise Money For Charity by Patrick Omari

I am writing this article on the fund raising day known as Children In Need. Many people are doing weird and wonderful things to help raise money for this good cause. There are lots of things you can do to raise extra cash on and around this special day. Children in Need is not the only time charities need your help, Red Nose Day is another well known event and many organisations need you help all through the year. If you feel like making a difference, here are some ideas that should help the cash pour in. Your money will always be greatly appreciated by the charities.

There are many simple ways to raise money that are also very easy to arrange. You could get people involved on a large scale. For instance, have a non-uniform day at work or school and ask anyone who is taking part to donate a sum of money. You could even have a theme to your non-uniform day and ask everyone to come in wearing their pyjamas. If your school or work place does not have a uniform, a themed day works really well. You could hold a raffle and put all the money towards the charity. Cakes are always popular, try and get a few volunteers to make some treats. You can then set up a cake stall and charge people money per cake.

If you are brave and feel like given a solo challenge a go, then this is guaranteed to be fun. Tell people your plan and ask them to sponser you in aid of charity. Give a sponsored walk or run a go. Be a little bit more adventurous by shaving your head and men could even have their legs waxed in front of an audience. You could also auction off the hairy legs with the highest bidder being able to pull off the wax strip. If you are an adrenelin junky, try a bunjy jump or do a sky dive. The ideas you come up with can be very wacky, to create as much fun as possible. I have even sponsored someone for attempting to eat 1/2 Kilo of marmite. Gross.

The important part of fund raising is having fun, whilst raising money for your charity. Many people will benefit greatly from you help. It doesn't matter what the amount is you raise because every penny counts, so anything you can manage to raise helps. Alternatively, if you do not fancy arranging a challenge, you can still make a difference by sponsoring those who are doing one. TV shows that take place on the evening of Children In Need and Red Nose Days also give you the chance to phone in with a donation. People may be shaking buckets of money for you to add to in your local supermarkets and at traffic lights. If you can afford to, please contribute to these very worth while causes.
